چکیده
Abstract The architectural requirements imposed on the structural design of buildings sometimes necessitate vertical and horizontal irregularities with their possibly dangerous effects when these structures are subjected to earthquakes. One greatest challenges in engineering is a steel high-rise building (HRB) irregularities. In this research, two irregular (HRBs) were seismically analyzed as 3D models considering soil–structure interaction (SSI) tuned mass damper (TMD) systems used mitigate seismic response under different studied HRBs vertically (step-pyramid-shaped) HRB, both horizontally (L-shaped in-plan, stadium-shaped) HRB. SSI provides actual tall earthquake, mitigation schemes using TMDs suggested arrangements top plan along elevation achieve control structures. present study has shown that best efficiency effect earthquakes obtained by implementing at corners HRB also floor levels upper half-height

Tuned Mass Dampers for Earthquake Vibrations of High-rise Buildings using Bee Colony Optimization Technique
This paper investigates the application of Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) method for the optimization of Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs) employed for high-rise structures including Soil Structure Interaction (SSI). The model is a 40-story building, and Newmark method is utilized for the structure response to Bam earthquake data. The objective is to decrease both maximum displacement and accelerati...
متن کاملOPTIMIZED TUNED LIQUID COLUMN DAMPERS FOR EARTHQUAKE OSCILLATIONS OF HIGH-RISE STRUCTURES INCLUDING SOIL EFFECTS
This paper investigates the optimized parameters for the tuned liquid column dampers to decrease the earthquake vibrations of high-rise buildings. Considering soil effects, the soilstructure interaction (SSI) is involved in this model. The Tuned Liquid Column Damper (TLCD) is also utilized on the roof of the building. Since the TLCD is a nonlinear device, the time domain analysis based on nonli...

متن کاملSemiactive Tuned Mass Dampers
Studies have already demonstrated the successful use of linear semiactive damping devices, such as variable orifice (VO) dampers, for semiactive TMD systems. More recently, nonlinear semiactive damping devices, such as magnetorheological (MR) dampers, have also been shown to be effective for semiactive control of TMDs. Though semiactive dampers differ widely, with responses ranging from linear ...

Abstract: There has been a significant increase in attention toward designing smart structures and vibration control of structures in recent decades, and numerous methods and algorithms have been developed and experimentally investigated. However, the majority of these studies used the shear frame models to represent structures. Since the simplified models do not reflect the realistic behavior ...
